Day 248: Meeting Elrick (crosspost from Anthdrawlogy)

The morning I was lamenting the fact that I couldn't think of anything to draw. Nothing was coming out right. So I fell back on something tried and true: a horse. Then his neck got a little long. And his tail got waterfall-y. Then he grew a beard. And then came the bird, although the ground didn't meet up with his feet so I drew a cliff instead. Then the bird was hovering, so he needed something to stand on. Then the hand got a little...er...amphibious. And the elbows sprouted fins. The arms bent the wrong way to be a huge frog (and you guys know me and never wanting to draw legs) so the body got a bit long. Then I decided I'd already drawn a horse-y face on the other guy, so I went with a whale face instead of a sea serpent one. Then of course the whale face needed a horn because I like horns. And then they all proceeded to a have a cordial, if not mildly clever conversation about the only thing proper for a bird, a giraforse and monster of the deep to talk about.

I also drew this with a .28 uniball pen. I LOVE THESE THINGS.
