Day 53: Stickman sticks

Much less time than normal went into making this one, if you can't tell. However, it was my first time without using a reference for movement at all. Also, I am swamped with dolls this week. Hoping to get something a little more...polished? up later. Wish me luck! Hope I don't lose my head.

Day 52: My kid, John McClane

I'm not terribly pleased with how this turned out, but at least it's evidence of me trying something new...if not exactly new, then something with which I'm pretty uncomfortable (pure digital, no hand drawn components). I've also learned that my kid looks somewhat like Bruce Willis.

This is Jedi Master Tiffany. She left her sorority to pursue Jedi training but really pines for her pledgies. Even though she's one with the force and all, she can still spice up those drab robes and make a padawan look absolutely FAB-awan.

And YES. Of course her blade is hot pink.

Day 40: Tadashi Hamada

I am so excited for the new Disney movie, Big Hero Six! This sketch is vaguely reminiscent of the main character's older brother Tadashi Hamada. Kinda. I think I was just mildly thinking of him as I drew it. Whatever....YAY BIG HERO SIX!

Day 39: Animation Monday!

It's a little rough but honestly really fun to do. Preston dubbed it a pilot whale, which just tickled me silly.

Day 38: NOOOOOOOOO

I can't tell if he's seriously in distress or not, like "IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AND MY FAMILY IS TEETERING ON THE EDGE OF THAT CLIFF NOOOOOO" or more like "BUMI DON'T FEED THAT SKYBISON POPROCKS NOOOO"

I guess when you're a parent all levels of distress just kind of mesh together.

Anyways. It's adult Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender. It's supposed to be a Sunday Selfie but I'm taking tomorrow off and posting two today. Woo.

Day 36: Spooked Hook

Even Lady Captain Hooks don't like crocodiles, however badly drawn.

I really like this Disney-esque style and I'm going to try messing with it for a while. Any suggestions of someone you'd like to see? Don't say the crocodile.

Day 35: Princess Eilonwy

I honestly don't understand why Princess Eilonwy (from "The Black Cauldron") is not a canon Disney Princess. We should march on Disneyland. Canonize Eilonwy! Canonize Eilonwy!

Day 34: Fix-it...Cratchit?

The unholy union of a viewing of Disney's "A Christmas Carol" while listening to the Wreck-It Ralph soundtrack: Fix-It Felix meets Bob Cratchit. Aaaand...I'm out.

Day 32: Back to kokeshi land

The doll painting biz has picked up steam once again and I didn't have time for a physical pen and ink and paper drawing today. I was still reimagining characters, just in a different medium...totally counts! Ten points to Gryffindor if you can guess who I'm working on...maybe eight points; it's pretty obvious.

Day 31: Sunday Selfie! With a little assistance from a sassy silly sis...

I had a little professional artist help with today's drawing..."This is Ella. She's a girl I made up. She's a girl that helps pegasuses, unicorns, ponies, and horses. And flies. She gets away flies."

Day 29: Snaaaaaaake!

So I got distracted drawing today's character and ended up doing this instead. The character is...umm...snake. From the old phone game Snake. Sure. Click to play, I think? It looks simple, but I spent about two hours actually trying to figure out this new program so...sure, it counts. I'm excited to work a little more on my animation game sometime in the future now that I know what all these buttons do.

Anyways, immediately after I finished my bitty gif, I watched this (below). So amazing!! So worth every minute. Savin and I were both cracking up.

Day 28: Bedward and Schmella

You know what would make a fun Twilight alternate universe? One where they absolutely can't stand each other the entire time. Serious loathing. Bella marries the guy that almost hit her with the car. Edward bachelors it up into eternity. Jacob takes a job in Florida, never shows up past page 42. I don't know, I'm just spitballing here.
