Oh, Sam, I'm sorry. I'm not sure what it is either. I'm guessing a sock kitty (yes) was sitting quietly on his lemonade rug when an egg-over-easy decided to kidnap him in its tractor beam. And when sock kitties are captured, they leave behind trails of green so their sock kitty brothers and sisters can find them easily.
This is the only explanation I have; I hope it works. :D

Sam, age 5: "Daddy, what is that?"
Me: "I have no idea."
Though my mom did point out that it's a sock cat. Cuz of the stitching.

That's so sad. I hope his sock siblings find him. I'm glad we both agree that's an egg :-)
My Lexi loo is giggling as we speak...
Hee hee! Hi Lexi!!
LOL - my first thought was "Hey, my egg had a cat in it!" But I like your explanation better.
